Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare, which operates 13 locations in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties, is one of 24 community mental health centers in Indiana. Since 1971, Southwestern has been a leader in providing a wide range of programs and services to meet the mental health and addiction needs of our communities. Services are available to all individuals, youth to elderly, who are in need of mental health and addiction treatment and annually, over 7,800 individuals receive services.
Our services include acute psychiatric care for all age groups, 24-hour crisis services, and a full range of services from outpatient and addiction treatment to older adult services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses.
Southwestern, through education and outreach services, emphasizes the importance of prevention and educational programs for the well-being of our communities. Through our programs, services, and outreach, it is our goal to achieve great strides in reducing the stigma associated with seeking mental health services.
Our core values – community, excellence, and integrity are led by our mission: Improving Lives Together. It is not a motto or tagline; rather, the driving force
in all that we do – improving the lives of those that we serve, our community, and those within the Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare family. Together, with the support of our experienced teams and those who entrust us with their care, we are able to exemplify Our Why and Our How.
