At Virginia Wesleyan University, counseling is available to all students as a personal, free and confidential service, directed to any concerns they may bring.  The counseling center is staffed by licensed clinicians and other professionals to provide mental health support to students. Counselors work with students to develop individualized treatment plans to address the student’s presenting concern and then work with the student for as many sessions necessary to achieve their mental health goals. Counseling Services can also assist students in psychiatric medication management referrals. Licensed clinic staff members are available on a 24/7 on-call basis to students experiencing psychological distress.
